Summer at All Dunn Up - Weddings, Shows & Family Time
As the summer holidays draws to a close I thought I’d give you an insight of what has been happening at All Dunn Up and how we’ve managed to juggle work and family life. As I’m sure many parents will understand trying to work whilst having children on their summer break can be a tricky task but with the help of friends and family we’ve succeeded.
We started the holidays by attending Chumleigh Old Fair Country and Craft Market, where I had a stall. I love this day. As I grew up in the area it’s the chance to see people I haven’t seen for ages and also the opportunity to show off my hats and fascinators.
The following week we then attended North Devon Show, which is held near Umberleigh. I had a very keen little helper with me. Harry was up early to help me set up. He was a great help and it was lovely to have the company. Chris came along later with Finley and they had a look around the show together. I always think that attending events like this is vital in business as it lets the public see the quality of your work and also helps to get your name out there.
We then had some fun at ‘Langaland’ family music festival near Bovey Tracey, Devon. This was our first time at a festival and what fun we had. Not only was there music, there was also arts for the children, yoga for the fitness enthusiast and stalls for the shoppers. With 4 Mums, 8 children and a 6 month old baby we had a lot of stuff!!! How do people travel light when camping? Floral crowns and fedoras were definitely the style of the weekend.
To keep Harry and Finley entertained we have also been to Knightshayes, National Trust, Bicton Park RHS Rosemoor, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and Clovelly. These are great places to visit in Devon if you are looking for something to do.
Whilst having fun I have also been a busy bee making bespoke hats and fascinator for ladies attending weddings and luckily for me there has been a lot of weddings!! To keep Harry entertained he has also been creating his own designs. At 5 years old he loves arts and crafts, maybe a milliner in the making!!
Next week its back to school, Harry will now be in year 1 and Finley will be starting pre-school. He seems to small to be going, but I know he will love it.
Once they are back to school I can concentrate on creating a selection of hand embellished fedoras for Autumn/Winter, along with new hat and fascinator designs.

I can’t recommend ‘All Dunn Up’ enough!! Rachel was extremely helpful and so pleasant to talk to when I was explaining what I was trying to acheive with my fascinator. She forwarded some samples to me which matched my dress perfectly. She obviously loves what she does and is very professional with the personal touch. I think the small business wins everytime.I would have no hesitation in contacting her again in the future….thank you for all your help.
